Collateral Warranties – What are you signing up to? – Galway

Tuesday, 24 October 2017

Galway Location (TBC)

14:30 - 16:30 (Registration 14:00)

Overview

Collateral warranties create direct contractual relationships between parties that would not otherwise exist. Establishing a contractual relationship with a third party is often a contractual requirement for construction and engineering projects. Collateral warranties can be extensive and are often bespoke; so how do you know what you are signing up to?

In this seminar, we will cover:

– What are collateral warranties and why are they used?

– Standard features and clauses; including step-in rights and insurance

– Limiting liability

– Professional Indemnity Insurance

– Methods of enforcement

– Recent updates in case law

Speaker

Brian Quinn, Associate at Quigg Golden

Brian is a chartered quantity surveyor with an extensive range of practical, commercial and legal experience. Brian drafts and reviews contracts, sub-contracts, performance bonds and collateral warranties, and advises on a variety of contentious and non-contentious construction and procurement matters.

Places are limited and allocated by registering in advance only and will be on a first come first served basis. Refreshments will be provided.
